Chapter Seven & Eight Wisdom of dealing with the vain life and Preparing for Eternal life 1 - A good name is better than a good ointment, And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one's birth. (Ecclesiastes 7: 1). . ﺍﻟﻮﻻﺩﺓ ﻳﻮﻡ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻟﻤﻤﺎﺕ ﻭﻳﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﻄﺏ ﺍﻟﺪﻫﻦ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻟﺼﻴﺖ A good name = A good deed . . . day of death is better than the day of birth. At the day of your birth, anything is possible. But on the day of your death, what you have done with your life no longer can be changed.
2 -Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart. (7: 2). ﻭﺍﻟﺤﻲ ﺍﻧﺴﺎﻥ ﻛﻞ ﻧﻬﺎﻳﺔ ﺫﺍﻙ ﻻﻥ ﺍﻟﻮﻟﻴﻤﺔ ﺑﻴﺖ ﺍﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺬﻫﺎﺏ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻟﻨﻮﺡ ﺑﻴﺖ ﺍﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺬﻫﺎﺏ ﻗﻠﺒﻪ ﻓﻲ ﻳﻀﻌﻪ The Wise The Fool His thoughts are in the house of mourning. His mind is in the house of pleasure. Takes the shortness of life into account. Pretends as if this life lasts forever. ﺍﻟﺸﻬﻮﺍﺕ ﻳــﺒــــﻄﻞ ﺍﻟﻤﻮﺕ ﺫﻛﺮ The remembrance of death casts away evil desires.
3 - It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than for a man to hear the song of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7: 5). ﺍﻟﺠﻬﺎﻝ ﻏﻨﺎﺀ ﺳﻤﻊ ﻣﻦ ﻟﻼﻧﺴﺎﻥ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻟﺤﻜﻴﻢ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻻﻧﺘﻬﺎﺭ ﺳﻤﻊ We all hate being told that we are wrong. But we are better off if we are told that we are wrong so that we can fix ourselves. . ﺍﻟﻤﺪﻳﺢ ﻳﺤﺐ ﻓﺄﻨﻪ ﺍﻟﺠﺎﻫﻞ ﻋﻜﺲ ﻳﻤﺪﺣﻪ ﻣﻦ ﻳﺤﺐ ﻷ ﺍﻟﺤــﻜـﻴﻢ
4 - Surely oppression destroys a wise man’s reason , and gifts destroys the heart. (7: 7) ﺍﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﺗﻔﺴﺪ ﻭﺍﻟﻌﻄﻴﺔ ﺍﻟﺤﻜﻴﻢ ﻳﺤﻤﻖ ﺍﻟﻈﻠﻢ ﻻﻥ He who hates gifts shall live. Pr 15: 27 Bribe
5 -The end of a matter is better than its beginning, The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit (7: 8). ﺍﻟﺮﻭﺡ ﺗﻜﺒﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻟﺮﻭﺡ ﻃﻮﻝ. ﺑﺪﺍﻳﺘﻪ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﺍﻣﺮ ﻧﻬﺎﻳﺔ • No one ever won a race because of their great beginning. 7 - Consider the work of God: for who can make straight, what He made crooked? (7: 13) ﻋﺟﻪ ﻗﺪ ﻣﺎ ﺗﻘﻮﻳﻢ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻳﻘﺪﺭ ﻣﻦ ﻻﻧﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻤﻞ ﺍﻧﻈﺮ The bad news = There are some things that we cannot change. The good news = They were brought into my life by God Himself.
8 - In the day of prosperity be happy, But in the day of adversity consider -- God has made the one as well as the other So that man will not discover anything that will be after him. (Ecclesiastes 7: 14). ﺷﻴﺌﺎ ﺍﻻﻧﺴﺎﻥ ﻳﺠﺪ ﻟﻜﻴﻼ ﺫﺍﻙ ﻣﻊ ﻫﺬﺍ ﺟﻌﻞ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺍﻥ. ﺍﻋﺘﺒﺮ ﺍﻟﺸﺮ ﻳﻮﻡ ﻭﻓﻲ ﺑﺨﻴﺮ ﻛﻦ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺮ ﻳﻮﻡ ﻓﻲ ﺑﻌﺪﻩ In the Day of Prosperity In the Day of Adversity Be Happy Remember that this also comes from God ﺍﻟﺸﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺧﺎﻑ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺮ ﻳﻮﻡ ﻭﻓﻰ ﺑﺸﺮ ﻛﻦ ﺍﻟﺸﺮ ﻳﻮﻡ ﻓﻰ In the day of difficulty grumble and in the day of prosperity fear from the day of difficulty.
10 - He who keeps His commandment will experience nothing harmful. (8 -5) ﺷﺎﻕ ﺑﺎﻣﺮ ﻳﺸﻌﺮ ﻻ ﺍﻟﻮﺻﻴﺔ ﺣﺎﻓﻆ Because narrow is the gate, and difficult is the way, which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Mt 7: 14 ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﺍﻟﻄﺮﻳﻖ ﻭﺃﻜﺮﺏ ﺍﻟﺒﺎﺏ ﺍﺿﻴﻖ ﻣﺎ ﻳﺠﺪﻭﻧﻪ ﺍﻟﺬﻳﻦ ﻫﻢ ﻭﻗﻠﻴﻠﻮﻥ. ﺍﻟﺤﻴﺎﺓ ﺍﻟﻰ ﻳﺆﺪﻱ Difficult The way of God Easy Take my yoke upon you, and learn ﻻﻧﻲ. ﻣﻨﻲ ﻭﺗﻌﻠﻤﻮﺍ ﻋﻠﻴﻜﻢ ﻧﻴﺮﻱ ﺍﺣﻤﻠﻮﺍ from me, for I am gentle and lowly, ﺭﺍﺣﺔ ﻓﺘﺠﺪﻭﺍ. ﺍﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻭﻣﺘﻮﺍﺿﻊ ﻭﺩﻳﻊ and you will find rest for your soul. . ﻟﻨﻔﻮﺳﻜﻢ For my yoke is easy, and My ﺧﻔﻴﻒ ﻭﺣﻤﻠﻲ ﻫﻴﻦ ﻧﻴﺮﻱ ﻻﻥ burden is light. ( Mt 11: 29 -30)
10 - He who keeps His commandment will experience nothing harmful. (8 -5) ﺷﺎﻕ ﺑﺎﻣﺮ ﻳﺸﻌﺮ ﻻ ﺍﻟﻮﺻﻴﺔ ﺣﺎﻓﻆ This principles has many modern-day corollaries. - When you drive the speed limit, you don’t have to worry about speed traps. -When you pay your taxes you don’t have to worry about IRS audit. - When you do your works faithfully on the job, you don’t have to worry if your boss is watching.
11 - Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil. (Ecclesiastes 8: 11). ﺑﻨﻲ ﻗﻠﺐ ﺍﻣﺘﻸ ﻗﺪ ﻓﻠﺬﻟﻚ ﺳﺮﻳﻌﺎ ﻳﺠﺮﻯ ﻻ ﺍﻟﺮﺩﻳﺀ ﺍﻟﻌﻤﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻘﻀﺎﺀ ﻻﻥ ﺍﻟﺸﺮ ﻟﻔﻌﻞ ﻓﻴﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﺒﺸﺮ Here is a situation. A man is warned that if he sins, he will suffer the consequences of those sins. But he sins anyway. Time passes. And then passes more. And nothing happens. It appears that he has gotten away with it. The natural reaction of anyone is to emulate such sins.
12 - There is futility which is done on the earth, that is, there are righteous men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked. On the other hand, there are evil men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I say that this too is futility. (Ecclesiastes 8: 14). ﻋﻤﻞ ﻣﺜﻞ ﻳﺼﻴﺒﻬﻢ ﺻﺪﻳﻘﻮﻥ ﻳﻮﺟﺪ ﺍﻥ. ﺍﻻﺭﺽ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻳﺠﺮﻯ ﺑﺎﻃﻞ ﻳﻮﺟﺪ ﻫﺬﺍ ﺍﻥ ﻓﻘﻠﺖ. ﺍﻟﺼﺪﻳﻘﻴﻦ ﻋﻤﻞ ﻣﺜﻞ ﻳﺼﻴﺒﻬﻢ ﺍﺷﺮﺍﺭ ﻭﻳﻮﺟﺪ ﺍﻻﺷﺮﺍﺭ . ﺑﺎﻃﻞ ﺍﻳﻀﺎ There is a Righteous Man. . . to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked. There are Evil Men. . . to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous.
13 - Although a sinner does evil a hundred times and may lengthen his life, still I know that it will be well for those who fear God, who fear Him openly. 13 But it will not be well for the evil man and he will not lengthen his days like a shadow, because he does not fear God. (Ecclesiastes 8: 12 -13). ﻟﻠﻤﺘﻘﻴﻦ ﺧﻴﺮ ﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﺍﻧﻪ ﺍﻋﻠﻢ ﺍﻧﻲ ﺍﻻ ﺍﻳﺎﻣﻪ ﻭﻃﺎﻟﺖ ﻣﺮﺓ ﻣﺌﺔ ﺷﺮﺍ ﻋﻤﻞ ﻭﺍﻥ ﺍﻟﺨﺎﻃﺊ . ﻗﺪﺍﻣﻪ ﻳﺨﺎﻓﻮﻥ ﺍﻟﺬﻳﻦ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻗﺪﺍﻡ ﻳﺨﺸﻰ ﻻ ﻻﻧﻪ ﺍﻳﺎﻣﻪ ﻳﻄﻴﻞ ﻻ ﻭﻛﺎﻟﻈﻞ ﻟﻠﺸﺮﻳﺮ ﺧﻴﺮ ﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﻭﻻ Short View Looks at life "under the sun" The sinner lengthens his life. it will not be well for the evil man. Long View Looks at life with eternity in mind It will not be well for the evil man it will be well for those who fear God
