BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS BPCL WELCOMES ALL DELEGATES

BPCL : A PROFILE BPCL is a Fortune 500 company Second largest oil marketing company Market share of 23% in 2008 -09

Bharat Metal Cutting Gas BMCG is an unique hydrocarbon industrial gas mixed with an innovative additive that enhances flame temperature and produces fine cut finish at very low cost compared to DA.

BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS IS COMPLETELY SAFE AND OPERATOR-FRIENDLY. u Explosive limits (flammability) % in air BMCG ----- 2. 3 – 9. 5 Acetylene -- 2. 5 – 80 Has lower explosive limits in air than acetylene, therefore, BMCG is less flammable than acetylene. u BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS IS NON-TOXIC AND HAS NO BACKFIRE. u IN CASE OF A LEAK, BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS CAN BE DETECTED EASILY BECAUSE OF ITS UNIQUE PUNGENT SMELL. u BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS IS STORED AT LOWER PRESSURE, THEREFORE, SAFER THAN ACETYLENE. u

Acetylene Cylinder --is it Dangerous ? • Un dissolved Acetylene Gas Can Explode With Shock Only • Stored Without Filter Pad • No Fire Required • Decomposition • 1 Gm C 2 H 2 = 3. 5 Gms of TNT

BHARAT METAL CUTTING GAS: u u u Bharat Metal Cutting gas is fortified with an innovative additive which enhances the cutting properties of the gas Achieves flame temp. around 3000 deg C - closer to Acetylene (3150 deg. C) High penetration and faster cutting speed Very effective for cutting metals of higher thickness (40 mm & above) Smooth cutting surface and reduction in slag formation

Comparison in basic properties and LEL for BMCG = 2. 5 % LEL for DA = 2. 5 % behaviour of DA & BMCG u u HEL for BMCG = 9. 5 % HEL for DA = 80 % u Operating pressure for BMCG = 0. 5 kgs/cm 2 u Operating pressure for DA = 3 Kgs/cm 2 (around 40 psi) u BMCG cylinder pressure = 3 to 6 kgs/cm 2 u DA cylinder pressure = 18 to 20 kg/cm 2.

Advantages of BMCG u Is marketed in Kgs and could be measured easily. u Less Carbon formation – hence low maintenance and long life of nozzles. u Operator friendly. u Reduces fuel inventory. u Yields 40 % cost savings on overall cutting cost.

Advantages of using BMCG u Virtually impossible to back fire or flash back u Flame is much less Luminous, so less harmful to eye-sight u Less cylinder handling cost u Lower frequency for changing the cylinders u Safer as the operating pressure is lower in cylinder

Advantages of using BMCG u. Faster cutting rate as secondary flame is higher (19080 Vs 8570 DA Kcal). u Smooth cutting surface and reduction in slag formation. u. Competitively priced

Easy Change over from DA to BMCG For BMCG the same torch used for DA can be used. Only the cutting nozzle has to be changed. 3 seater torch / nozzles give better economy and lesser flash back

BMCG: WE OFFER u u Uninterrupted supply all over India on door delivery basis Variety of packages with ease of handling 19 kg, 35 kg, & 47. 5 kg cylinders CENVAT benefit available to customers Trials at customers’ unit and necessary Technical Assistance
