What is Succession Planning? • Identifying new leaders that engage proactively with the team and members. For example, through on-campus events, welcome meetings, Faculty meet & greet. • Undertaking detailed handover of tasks and values of the society. For example, through elaborate handover sessions. • Embracing talent and diversity of new team and empowering them. For example, providing opportunities to host and coordinate Oceania Regional Meeting.
Why Succession Planning? • Setting up a foundation for long and sustainable future of the Chapter. • Promoting continuity in key leadership positions that drives the whole Chapter. • Providing opportunitie s of development and collaboration to existing and engaging members.
Developing a Succession Plan • Identifying reliable, committed, talented and motivated members that engage and support the cause of the Chapter. • Continuous training and evaluation of the team, leading to better understanding of functioning of the Chapter. • Encouraging collaborative and learning behavior among the team and of the team with the industry professionals, other BAP chapters, alumni members and University stakeholders.
Chapter Initiatives • Setting up a Succession clause in Chapter constitution to prescribe expected behaviour and commitment of the team. • Engaging Chapter members through the use of multiple social media channels and monthly newsletters. • Featuring the achievements, experiences and great work of student members through the Chapter platform.
