A librarian joins the clinical team: Supporting: - On ward rounds, at clinical meetings… Responding to questions that arise in the clinical setting: Delivering patient centred information. Working in partnership with clinical staff. Using information retrieval and critical appraisal skills. Developing a database of evidence summaries from clinical questions and answers. Contributing to the development of guidelines / care pathways. Doctors Nurses Midwives Allied Health Professionals Anyone who needs to find the research evidence to support their clinical work Two Clinical Librarians work with staff in 12 clinical areas at UHL, supporting the clinical areas indicated. . The Clinical Librarian (CL) provides: - A digest / summary of the search results, highlighting the quality of evidence found. - Abstracts of relevant articles. - Full text documents as appropriate. - Details of search strategies and resources used.
