HYBRID CREATURE – An imaginary animal that is created using distortion, exaggeration, and illogical combinations of body parts from several animals.
Salvador Dali The Elephants (design for the Opera La Dama Spagnola e il Cavaliere) Like Dali’s The Elephants , sometimes pairing the most dissimilar features helps to exaggerate and emphasize an idea or tone. How we will begin: • You will begin by sketching a favorite animal. Make several sketches of possible combinations that exchange features such as the head, neck, legs, wings, tail, ears, texture, or animal skin with other animals. Remember that your creature can be based on scientific facts, fiction, or fantasy.
