My Classroom Leadership Each student will have a leadership role. Fines and bonuses are earned through Class Dojo. Every month students can visit the classroom store.

The Leader In Me Students will have a Leader In Me binder. Students should be able to identify how one of the characters exhibited one or more of the 7 Habits. Summer Reading Project is due Friday, August 30 th for a grade in Language Arts and Reading The 7 Habits will be emphasized throughout the year.

Attendance Policy • For every 3 unexcused absences a referral is given. • For every 10 tardies a referral is given.

Volunteer Hours • The first thing you need to do in order to volunteer, is to fill out the volunteer form, attach a copy of your driver’s license, and turn it in to the main office. This must be done every year. • You should be aware that if the parents do not complete the hours required, their child/children will not be registered at the school the following school year. All this information is stated in the Mater Gardens parent contract.

Volunteer Hours cont. As usual, 30 volunteer hours are required per child, unless you have multiple children in the school, in which case only 15 hours are required for each additional child. Half of the volunteer hours must be completed by the end of the 2 nd quarter.

4 th Grade Uniform Policy Pants or skorts: solid khaki or navy blue (no cargo pants, leggings, or super skinny) Shirts: Polo short-sleeved shirts in gray, turquoise, and/or navy blue with school emblem. Shoes: Solid black (including soles and logos, no exceptions) closed toe sneakers, or Mary Janes with one strap. Ballerina shoes and TOMS are not permitted. Socks are solid white OR BLACK and worn at all times. Cold weather: Solid navy blue jacket (without brand logos or hood). The undershirt must be school colors (white, turquoise, or navy blue). Belt (for boys): Solid black There will be no exceptions to the uniform policy. Any student out of uniform will be sent to the office until they are in proper uniform. After 3 violations of not being in correct uniform the student will be issued a referral to administration.

Other Information Cell phone / tablet use is not permitted during school hours unless authorized by teacher for instructional purposes. All forms that need to filled out will be sent home on Monday and are due by Friday.

VIP Desk What makes a VIP? Being a good example, working hard, being a leader, etc. I will pick the first VIP At the end of the day, the VIP will say who his/her pick for tomorrow’s VIP is and explain why. The VIP has access to special supplies and gets to sit up front by the teacher’s desk.

Communication Procedures Always contact teacher first (through e-mail or Class. Tag) If not satisfied, contact leadership team member but also CC me (since I will be contacted regardless by administration)

• Dismissal Procedures • Parents are not allowed upstairs before or after school unless they have signed in and have a visitor pass. • First day dismissal: kids are picked up from the classroom. • Silent dismissal starts on Day 2 • If your child goes on bus, please fill in bus log. • If your child walks or rides a bike, please fill out the permission form. • Students cannot leave 30 min. before dismissal time.
