BELIEF IN ALLAH’S BOOKS

{…Whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray. } [Quran: 4: 136]

What does belief in Allah’s books mean?

It means to believe: 1 2 3 • They are revealed by Allah. • In those we know. • Believe & follow in the rulings of its last revelation

What are the books sent by Allah?

Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success, And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil — additional prayers. ) Nay, you prefer the life of this world, Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. Verily, this is in the former Scriptures —The Scriptures of Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Mûsa (Moses). Suratul Ala 14 -19

…to Dawûd (David) We gave the Zabûr (Psalms). Al-Isra 55 It was We who revealed the Torah to Moses; therein was guidance and light. Al-Maeda 44

Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Īsā (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allâh therewith, but they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). Al-Hadid 27

And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad) the Dhikr [the reminder and the advice (the Qur'ân)], that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought. An-Nahl 44

Did everyone believe in the revelations?

Do you (faithful believers) covet that they will believe in your religion in spite of the fact that a party of them (Jewish rabbis) used to hear the Word of Allâh the Taurât (Torah), then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it? Al-Baqara 75

Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and disobey; hear thou as one cannot be made hear not" and "Listen to us!" distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. If they had said: "We hear and we obey: hear thou, and look at us" it had been better for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few. An-Nisa 46

And from those who call themselves Christians, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection (when they discarded Allâh's Book, disobeyed Allâh's Messengers and His Orders and transgressed beyond bounds in Allâh's disobedience), and Allâh will inform them of what they used to do. Al-Maeda 14

How were the scriptures changed?

Fulfilled Prophecies Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nûh (Noah), Lut (Lot), Sâlih, and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? Or say they: "We are a great multitude, victorious. ? “ Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs.
