Belgrade report Energy Meeting with the Working GRoup
Meeting with the Working GRoup on Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Geneva 27 November 2006 Jan Karlsson 1
Energy consumption Потребление энергии • Energy production and consumption are causing important pressures on the environment. Производство и потребление энергии значительно воздействуют на окружающую среду • Energy consumption has been increasing in all European regions since the end of the 1990’s and is driving up greenhouse emissions.
Energy markets Энергетические рынки • Energy markets are closely linked: EECCA is already an important energy trade partner for the rest of Europe. The dependence of NWE and SEE on gas and oil from EECCA will rise in the future. Also, increased energy prices make coal more competitive. Рост цен на энергетическом рынке сделает уголь более конкуретным • As a result, energy production and related environmental problems could strongly increase, in particular in the EECCA region.
General questions Общие вопросы • Is the message in the abstract clear and correct? • Are the technical explanations easy enough to understand? Specific questions Особые вопросы 10 • Is there additional information available on the development of sector integration in SEE and the EECCA countries? • Are there data available on the future of renewable energy in the EECCA and SEE countries?
