Behind the Gift
2020 -12 -24 Behind the Gift Christiaan Maritz Song Here is Love Opening Scripture…
Opening Scripture… Joh 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is the season for giving gifts and spending time with the family. Gifts will be given and opened. Gifts of many shapes and sizes.
The gifts are not only special because of what they are but because of the motive of the giver. The gift is special because behind the gift is a message of love, appreciation, or thanksgiving. The giver is sending message behind the gift that they love you. From the opening scripture we see the motive of God in giving the Gift He gave… Love. It was because of His Love that He Gave. What a Gift!… But remember the Gift is given because of His Love.
What a beautiful thought. God Loves you. So it is not always just about the gift but it is about the motive behind the gift… Notice this quote here: 118 They was taking a love offering one time for Gypsy Smith. And when they went back in the back of the building, to go out that night, there was a poor little ragged girl standing there. She was all…Her clothes was all tore off of her. She had something, she said she wanted to see Mr. Smith. So Gypsy Smith said, “What do you want, darling? ”
119 Said, “Mr. Smith, I didn’t have any money to give you, but, ” said, “about a month ago it was Christmas, and somebody give me a lollipop. And I love you so much, Mr. Smith!” Said, “My daddy got saved, he’s not a drunkard now. ” Said, “I thought I’d bring you this lollipop. ” 120 Mr. Smith took it in his hand, tears rolled down his cheeks.
Patted her on the hand, he said, “Honey, in my offering tonight lays as much as thousands of dollars in checks, but this is the greatest gift that I’ve got of all of it. It come from your little humble heart. ” Oh, my! 53 -0329 - Israel And The Church #5 If you are going to give something to someone or even to God, don’t worry so much about what your are giving, just give from a heart of love. He will see it.
2 Co 9: 7 Amp Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].
On this Christmas Eve. It is a comforting thought that God loves us. He does not just give us things because He has to. He has a motive behind the gift. His motive is His Love and care toward us. He invites us to ask so our joy might be made full. He wants to care for us. He wants to gives us healing, joy, and peace. He wants to bring you a gift of spiritual blessing. But He does all this because of His Love toward you.
So in prayer tonight, don’t be afraid to ask Him for those things that are dear to your heart. He knows about them, He understands. And above all, He cares. Mat 7: 7 Amp Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent? 11 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!
Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful time with your families. May God richly bless each and everyone. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
