Before we get started. . . • What are the definition for the words “cue” and “treason”?
Cue • “A signal, such as a word or action, used to prompt another event in a performance, such as an actor's speech or entrance, a change in lighting, or a sound effect. ”
Treason • “Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. ”

Summary? • Peter is the narrator. He is 14 years old. • In the beginning, Peter, his dad, and his brother, Tom, are sneaking out of their house in the middle of the night. They are sneaking out to go tear down a wall. • Sir Philip, a noble, has claimed land for himself by building a fence (a wall of rocks around it). This land had been shared by Peter’s family and their neighbors for generations. Sir Philip didn’t ask for the land; he just took it. That made the neighborhood angry. • All the neighborhood’s men and boys meet at the wall to tear it down. Peter is told to go stand guard. • While Peter is watching, Sir Philip and his men come galloping up. Peter whistles to warn his neighbors, who take off running. Peter throws a rock at Sir Philip, which alerts the men that he is hiding in the rocks. They shoot at Peter and shoot his hat off. Peter leaves his hat and runs back home.
