Become a Student Ambassador UWE students with the right to work in the UK can apply to become a Student Ambassador. The application period is open from 1 September to 1 November 2015. Interviews and training for ambassador roles will take place in January 2016. UWE Student Ambassadors are a diverse team of students who undertake paid work to support University events UWE student ambassadors are managed by Recruitment and Outreach team, Student Partnership Services. Ambassadors support the University through a wide range of events for faculties and services some of which include: Open Days. Conferences and Lectures Airport pick ups for International Photography and filming Research focus groups Post-16 school and international Students CPA concerts and performances Welcome Weekend Award Ceremonies visits Course specific interviews Faculty/department activities UCAS fairs
STEM Student Ambassador Further training will be provided to UWE Ambassadors who want to become STEM Ambassadors. Specific STEM training will be provided by staff from FET and will take place in conjunction with generic student ambassador training. STEM Ambassadors support the University through a wide range of events some of which include: Box. ED - STEM activities in a box Throughout year STEM School Activity Days 6 days, 1 st 2 weeks June Bloodhound and EDF October-May Technology clubs ½ day per week for 6 -10 weeks, Jan-March
UWE Box. ED Are you: § confident working with young people? § able to lead hands-on activities in a classroom? § keen on STEM subjects? § enthusiastic enough to lead 60 -90 min sessions? Box. ED is a new UWE outreach project. The Boxes are 60 -90 minute activities related to STEM subjects for classes in primary and secondary schools. Each session will have two student ambassadors working as a team to present ideas, instruct and help the kids get involved in experiments and demos.
