Mission Statement The Beaumont Bulls and Belles encourage youth development by proving opportunities for personal and athletic growth. We promote sportsmanship, self-esteem and the development of life skills through engaging youth in sports. 3
Welcome to the Family We would like to welcome all participants and parents to the 2017 Beaumont Bulls & Belles football season. We hope that this season will be exciting and rewarding for all those involved. Who We Are The Beaumont Bulls & Belles is a non-profit organization that has been under the Bay Area Football League, Inc. (BAFL) umbrella for five seasons now. Our organization was established in 2001 and continues to build a strong tradition for excellence and success. Our organization provides an opportunity for interested youths ages 5— 12 to participate in organized football, and ages 5— 13 for Drill/Cheerleading. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of football, the importance of teamwork, and most of all to have FUN. The coaches will stress self-discipline, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship. The individual growth of our community’s children is enhanced through the spirit of competition, discipline and fair play. These goals will be accomplished by providing a structured program designed to educate both participants and parents in all aspects of football. 4
Safety is our primary concern. Many of the exercises, drills and team rules are there to ensure your player is physically and mentally FIT for football. Each player is unique, and will develop at his/her own pace. We hope that this season will help to develop new skills and confidence for each player who participate in the Beaumont Bulls & Belles program. It’s More than Just Football Although football is what brought us all to the Bulls—we have many other activities throughout the 2017 season in an effort to ensure that our children and parents have lots of enjoyment. Here is a list of fun— filled events that will occur this season: Drill Competition Homecoming Sunday Funday Playoff Games Super Bowl Home Game Pep Rally Homecoming Game—Day Events Game Day Vendors Cheer Competition Trunk or Treat Academic Goals Our program supports the critical role that academics play in the development of our student/athletes and recognizes the need to perform in the classroom as well as on the field. It is NEVER the desire of the Bulls program to have football take precedence over school work. If a conflict should arise, please notify your coach immediately. We would ask that parents support this effort in order to encourage academic success for every player. 5

Players’ Code of Ethics I will encourage good sportsmanship from my fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at every game and practice by demonstrating good sportsmanship. I will attend every practice and game that I can, and will notify my coach if I cannot. I will do my very best to listen and learn from my coaches. I will treat my coaches, other players, officials and fans with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or abilities and I will expect to be treated accordingly. I deserve to have fun during my sports experience and will alert parents or coaches if it stops being fun. I will encourage my parent(s) to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to me. I will do my very best in school and show progress reports and report cards. I will remember that sports participation is an opportunity to learn and have fun. Ø Ø Ø Good sportsmanship is mandatory! No vulgar language, tantrums, displays of anger or fighting will be tolerated. Any such actions will result in disciplinary measures and may include suspension from the team. Participants will take proper care of the equipment that is issued to them to use. Immediately notify a coach if the equipment becomes damaged. Particular attention must be given to the card of the helmets. Never sit on your helmet and do not intentionally scrape or scar your helmet. As a member of the Beaumont Bulls & Belles Club you will represent yourself and your teammates on and off the field. Whether in victory or defeat, you will conduct yourself with pride and respect. 7
Parents Code of Ethics I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment. I will require that my child’s coach be trained in the responsibilities of a football or drill/cheer coach, and that the coach upholds the Coaches Code of Ethics. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will wait until after practice, or game, to speak with the coaches. I will wait until given authorization to walk onto the field in the event of my child being injured. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol, and will refrain from using these items at all youth sporting events. I will remember that the game is for the youth—NOT ADULTS. I will do my very best to make football, drill and cheer fun for my child. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability. I will promise to help my child enjoy the Beaumont Bulls and Belles experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful role model and assist where needed. I will respect and adhere to all BAFL and Beaumont Bulls & Belles Code of Conduct and disciplinary rules. I WILL LET THE COACHES COACH, THE PLAYERS PLAY, AND THE OFFICIALS OFFICIATE. 8
Parents Responsibilities The level of support given to a participant by the parents will have a measured impact on the success of each player. To better understand the parent’s role and involvement in the program, we have developed the following guidelines and recommendations: • Parents and visitors at practices and games must stay in designated areas reserved for the spectators. Sideline areas on game day and the practice fields are off limits unless the parent has been asked to be involved in some aspect of the practice or game. • Parents are encouraged to cheer for their teams from the stands with enthusiasm, but should never yell obscenities or derogatory remarks aimed at the opponents or conduct themselves in an offensive manner. As a result of such action, a team can be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct and the fan may be removed from the grounds. Poor behavior will result in fines that can range from $5 to $50. The Executive Board will assess the offense and set the fine accordingly. • A large number of people are needed to help the program run smoothly. Each parent is asked to volunteer a portion of his or her time during the season to help make the Club run efficiently. • It is the parent’s responsibility to provide transportation to and from practice and games. • Parents should always maintain a cooperative attitude towards coaches, participants, officials and board members. Remember—They are ALL volunteers. Coach’s Ethics and Responsibilities Before a volunteer can be a coach with the Beaumont Bulls, they must attend a mandatory coaching certification course. • Provide a positive attitude and demonstrate principles of fair play and sportsmanship. • Place the emotional and physical well-being of the players ahead of the desire to win. • Treat each player as an individual, recognizing the vast range of emotional and physical development of players at a given age of play. • Always teach the techniques of the game in such a way as to provide a safe playing situation for the players. • Be familiar with basic first aid principles. • Organize my practices in such a way as to make sure they are fun and challenging for all of my players. • Familiarize myself with the rules of the game and the rules and policies of the League. • Use coaching techniques that are appropriate at the skill level and the players that I coach. • I will remember that I coach a youth football team and that the game is for youth players and not adults. 9

Why is Fundraising Important? Fundraising is a crucial element to the success of this Club. If we lack on fundraising- the registration fees would increase considerably. In an effort to keep the out-of pocket costs to a minimum- The Beaumont Bulls & Belles have to execute successful fundraising campaigns. Pre-season, the Executive Board and the Board of Directors teamed up to host multiple fundraising events. We did that to minimize the amount of fundraising that Parents would be responsible for this season. This strategy has proven to be successful and also FUN!! We’d like to thank all of the volunteers that came out to help support our club during our fundraising events. We couldn’t have done it without you!! 23
