Parental Engagement
Parental Engagement • We are always looking to improve our parental engagement. • We hold regular parent forums and drop in sessions and encourage parents to keep good communication with the school using the form tutor as the first point of contact. • If you have any questions or want to give any feedback regarding parent communication please email Mr Rana mrana@spwt. net from the parental engagement team. • As a school we are increasing the use of text messages and emails to communicate with parents. Please ensure you check these regularly and update the school if you change contact details. • Please check the information in your pack and on the school website related to the SIMs Parents App. The school will contact you in September with an invite to sign up for this service.
Mobile Phone Policy
At St Paul’s Way Trust School, we: • Want to work closely with our families and students to prevent the unnecessary and unsafe use of mobile phones on the school site and beyond • We want all our students to maximise their learning and develop their social (face to face) skills with all members of the school community • Are a caring school and want all of our graduates to be safe whilst moving around the school site This approach will protect our students from internet misuse, cyberbullying and save on valuable learning time.
Mobile Phone Policy • We have adopted a ‘no mobile phone’ approach at St Paul’s Way Trust School • This means that students should not use their mobile phones on the school site – this includes the playground as well as the dining rooms • Mobile phones/electronic devices should not be visible at any time during the school day. • Mobile phones should be turned off before arriving at school and kept in bags

Restorative and Reflective Practice The behaviour systems in our school are restorative, reflective and fair If a students is not able to meet expectations at school they will be issued with a “See me” that day (this could also be for punctuality). A “See me” is a 20 minute session after school where a student will have a restorative conversation with a member of staff and catch up on learning time that may have been lost Please note: if your child is issued with a “see me”, there will be a note in the planner. The school will not be giving notice to parents about this in advance.
Restorative and Reflective Practice If a student fails to attend a “See Me” or misbehaves persistently in lesson they will be asked to stay in Central Reflection is for one hour after school the next day after an incident or an extreme late mark. We will always write in your child’s planner the day before so you know about this in advance. Please ensure you check your child’s planner everyday. These systems exist to help all our students be successful at school.
