Understanding the Assessments Why does the test only have 15 questions, but Data. Director shows more? It’s a Journal Page. Teacher Tip: • Flag these pages at the beginning of the unit. • Make a copy of each page for students. • Collect, score, and enter the score in Data. Director as you go.
Accessing the Assessments 1. Login to Data. Director 2. Click on the Switcher, then click Assessments. 3. Click Switch to List View
Accessing the Assessments (cont. ) 4. Change the Subject to Science and Grade Level to your grade level. Click Search.
Accessing the Assessments (cont. ) 5. Your search should return the BCAMSC assessments. If you do not see the assessments, contact your district Key Contact. They may need to share the assessment with you.
Accessing the Assessments (cont. ) 6. Click on the assessment title to open the assessment. 7. Scroll to the bottom to see the assessment in PDF format. If you do not see the downloadable materials, contact your district Key Contact. They will need to give you permission to download the assessment materials.
Entering Student Data • Data Entry Methods – Hand Entry – Bubble Sheets • Hand Entry – Access the assessment and click the Data Entry link. – Enter the scores in the cells using the scoring method described in the assessment guide.
Entering Student Data • Bubble Sheets – Scroll to the bottom of the assessment and click the With Student Names PDF icon. – Use the filters to select your name, grade, and course. Click Generate Answer Sheet. – You will see a PDF file containing the bubble sheets your students will use to take the test.

Entering Student Data – The Multiple Choice section is for the students to bubble in. – The teacher will need to bubble in all other questions as they are rubric based questions. For a description of the criteria for scoring, see the assessment guide.
Entering Student Data • Once the bubble sheets are complete, open the Data. Scanner software to scan the bubble sheets. Note: Most districts have this software installed on a machine that is attached to the scanner, not individual teacher computers. • Log in using your same Data. Director username and password.
Entering Student Data • Once in Data. Scanner, use the Assessment ID (found on the Assessment Overview page in Data. Director ) and enter it into the Quick Search box. Click Go. • Click the title of the assessment. • Confirm that the assessment is correct. • Choose Scan Now.
Entering Student Data • Choose Finish. • Choose Commit Results Due to the wide variety of scanners and printers, users may need to troubleshoot Data. Scanner. Contact your district Key Contact for troubleshooting tips or access the help document here.
