Bay Saver BARRACUDA S 4 What is the
Bay. Saver BARRACUDA S 4
What is the Barracuda? • Single Structure Hydrodynamic Separator • Available now in 4’ diameter (1. 25 cfs NJCAT, 1. 08 cfs 80% OK-110, 6. 25 cfs MHR). • 6’ unit available in January. 8’ unit in the spring. • Extremely cost effective
• Can be installed in a standard precast manhole. • 4’ unit can be fabricated in a lightweight ADS HP manhole. • Quick turn around times – typically 3 weeks as opposed to 4 -6 week for precast

Why the “teeth” • High water turbulence disrupts particle separation and increases “resuspension” of captured material. • When water flow passes by the solid body of the "teeth", the flow contacts the body and a boundary layer forms along the body surface. The boundary layer thickens due to viscous diffusion, and is convected downstream until flow separates. Flow separation is subject to lift and drag forces from the angle of attack. • The angled “teeth” also facilitate particle settling by increasing the settling surface area and reducing the settling distance.
Test Results • Third party test shows 80% removal of OK-110 particle at 1. 08 cfs treatment flow rate. • Testing per NJCAT show 50% removal at 1. 25 cfs (smaller particles size than OK-110) • NJCAT resuspension testing shows 1 mg/l of resuspension at flow 2 x MFTR
Maintenance • Maintenance can be performed from the surface • No parts to remove, no need to enter the structure • Remove the frame and grate • Vac hose is lowered through 10” opening at the bottom of the Bowl
