Basic formations CLOSE ORDER in line in column by the flank (moving only) SKIRMISH ORDER in line in column (the reserve only) by the flank (firing & moving) Today’s focus is on changing formation in close order. Note: position of Officers/NCOs often different in same formation when at a halt, marching or firing.
