What is a ripstick? • Ripsticks are extremely fun and manipulative kind of skateboard. They might seem hard at first, but it is easy when you master them. Learn how to ride it and have lots of fun! www. carid. com
Foot Placement • Foot placement is the foundation for riding a ripstick. Your left foot should always be on the front pad of the ripstick. http: //claudiayvette. deviantart. com • Your back foot should always be on the back pad of the ripstick. • Make sure your feet are near the middle of the ripstick, if they are too far forward or back you can easily loose your balance.
Learning To Push Off • To push off lay the ripstick on its side. www. woot. com • Put your left foot on the front pad and your back foot on the ground. • Then push off with your back foot and quickly put it on the back pad. Pushing off with your front foot could make you loose your balance.
Balance • Balance is key in riding a ripstick. After you have learned where your feet go and how to push off it’s time to get a feel for riding a ripstick. • Here’s how I learned to balance. Get someone to hold you while you are on the ripstick so you don’t fall off. Tell them to move you around while you get a feel for the ripstick.
Picking Up Speed • To pick up speed just slowly wiggle your back foot. • You only need to do small wiggles or you could easily lose your balance. License: Creative Commons www. wikihow. com
Turning • To turn lean the front foot pad in the way you want to turn. Slightly lean in the way you want to turn and slightly twist your back foot. License: Creative Commons www. wikihow. com
