This training module: Objectives: At the end of the training module, each participant should be able to: - Use the four basic steps of first aid Administer CPR to an unconscious person who is not breathing normally Call for help at the right time, depending on whether one or more rescuer is present Hjælp os at hjælpe andre 3

Assessing the victim’s condition Check to see whether the victim is conscious by: - Talking loudly to him/her - Gently shaking him/her If he/she does not respond, he/she is unconscious. Call for help! Hjælp os at hjælpe andre
Open the airway by placing one hand on the forehead and the other on the chin. Gently tilt the head backwards. Hjælp os at hjælpe andre
Look-feel-listen Check whether breathing is normal. This should not take more than 10 seconds: - Look for the normal rise and fall of the chest. - Try feeling the exhalation of breaths on your cheek - Listen for normal breathing Hjælp os at hjælpe andre
