Equivalent Fractions n Equivalent fractions are fractions that have the same value. 1 2 X 2 = X 2 2 4 X 2 = X 2 4 8 = ?
Equivalent Fractions ● Multiply or divide the numerator by the same number. 1 2 2 = 4 X 2 X 2 = X 2 4 8 = 8 X 2 16
Simplifying Fractions n A fraction is in simplest form when its numerator and denominator have no common factors other than 1. A student survey shows that 6 out of 18 children in the class said that they would go to a theme park over the summer break.
