Background noise • Background noise can affect are concentration because of how there is noise that’s not near but its still affecting your concentration with another person or if you are trying to listen to a video or something like a presentation. • There are ways to prevent background noise however sometimes you just cant as other people talking which you can hear you just cant control that however you can prevent being in a busy or noisy area so that you can listen clearer and easier. • If you need to record a video or being in a call etc where you need to use a microphone an microphone can pick up a lot of background noise depending on the quality or it can either be a program which you can use to get rid of background noise. Distractions • Distractions in conversations can cause the audience to lose attention so then whatever you will say will not get through to anyone that is distracted the reason it makes someone lose distraction is that there is something way more interesting happening nearby compared to whatever you are doing. • To prevent distractions is to make sure you that you get there attention with whatever you are doing which it is hard depending on the person some people will actually pay their attention but some will feel that you are wasting your time so they wont pay any attention towards you. Lack of concentration • Lack of concentration can be affecting multiple people it can mean you could have lack of concentration or the people you interacting with, lack of concentration would provide mixed attention towards you so they will take much of your information in. • Lack of concentration is not a good thing for you due to them not getting all your information fully inside their head so they will just forget about it in some time which will then lead to you providing useless information for people. • They way you can prevent lack of concentration is to make sure that you engage the person with some interesting however there is sometimes you cant engage a person due to their mood or there interest in the topic you are talking about. Open questions • The reason the type of questions you asked has to be a type of thing you think about because it makes the conversation more open you can get more information through or back so if you ask a open question you can get more of a response back because it makes the person think about their answer not just “yes or no”. • The best way for open questions is that you don’t give a long question as it could be to hard of an answer for someone that barely knows the topic but its great to know for sure that people are listening to you or taking in your information by asking open questions because if they get it right you know for sure that they took in what you said. Closed questions • Closed questions are a lot easier than open questions because responses to this questions are basically only “yes and no” answers and they are not long questions otherwise you would be wasting your time for a response. • Closed questions don’t really offer much for information or conversation as its only one worded answers however you can work with the answers with a more open question. • Questions is meant for the person to keep someone engaged however you cant tell with closed questions because it can simply be a guess unlike open questions. Probing • Probing is normally a base of small questions that are asked to understand something more its like asking a open question but more than just one this is best to try and get someone's attention because it engages you to think!. • However probing is better being 1 on 1 and not the best for a presentation due to interacting with one person you wont engage the rest and will be left out and be disinterested. Speed of response • Judging things by the speed of a response that you get is great because you can see if the person is engaged in what you are saying. The way you see that is if they are responding fast you can tell they know about the subject and are confident with how they are speaking however if they reply slowly its generally means that they are not confident or don’t have much knowledge about the subject. • Although the speed of response is great to know about you have to be able to read it otherwise it will be useless to try and do and just engage your audience another way that you can do.
