WHAT IS AN AUTOPSY? • Autopsy's are preformed by specialized people who examine the exterior and interior of a body to discover cause of death. • Autopsy’s are very important and beneficial because they can help in criminal investigations to see if the dead guy died from an accident, suicide, or homicide.

BEFORE DISSECTION • Banana had brown spots everywhere, and brown lines down the midline
TRANSVERSE CERVICAL CUT • A transverse cervical cut at the top of the banana. Inside fresh and the peel is 2 mm superficial to the banana.
TRANSVERSE UMBILICAL CUT • Transverse cut at the torso of the banana. Similar features to the transverse cervical cut at the head
FRONTAL INCISION • Frontal incision is cutting the head in half from the top. Splitting the head into inferior and anterior sections. Anterior: Black on top Posterior: View of the head is lighter than the rest of the body. Black line near medial of the posterior.
MID-SAGITTALL • Mid-sagittal cut is a cut down the middle of the banana splitting it into right and left sections. Right: Deep in the banana is darker than the distal of the banana. Left: Similar to the right sagittal longitudinal view except that it is a bit riper.
PARASAGITTAL • Para sagittal is cutting the banana a cut on one side of the midline and identical cut on the other side Right: deep in the right parasagittal longitudinal view is very ripe Left: Similar to the right parasagittal view but not as ripe.
