Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. Innovation BRS has developed new light weight material, to minimize weight of FAA certifiable parachutes. The BRS parachute is designed to decelerate and lower the entire aircraft to the ground in case of emergency. Accomplishments Cirrus Design & BRS have completed flight testing for the SR 20 airplane that is currently undergoing FAA certification testing. Commercialization • The Cirrus SR 20 will be the first certified production aircraft equipped with an airframe parachute as standard equipment. The BRS Parachute Recovery System Government/Science Applications The technology creates an improvement in pilot and passenger survivability in emergency situations.
