The Show The Bad World Tour was the first solo concert tour by American recording artist Michael Jackson, launched in support of his seventh studio album Bad (1987). Sponsored by Pepsi and spanning 16 months, the tour included 123 concerts to 4. 4 million fans across 15 countries making it the second highest grossing tour of 1988. When the tour concluded it grossed a total of $125 million, adding two new entries in the Guinness World Records for the largest grossing tour in history and the tour with the largest attended audience. Curiosities - During the concert in Brisbane, Stevie Wonder sang Bad together with Michael Jackson. - In Japan, the 9 concerts originally planned for September 1987 were sold out in a few hours so 5 more dates were added to meet the high demand. Jackson performed 14 concerts sold out, logging more than 570, 000 total viewers, beating all previous Japanese record (until then the record was 200, 000 viewers in a whole tour). In December 1988, Jackson returned to perform in Tokyo with other 9 sold out concert in front of 405, 000 people. In total, over 975, 000 Japanese have attended the concerts of the Bad World Tour. - At the last concert in the United Kingdom (at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool) 125, 000 people attended the concert, the largest ever seen in the country for a solo artist. Hundreds of people were wounded and twenty were even arrested.
