Students have logbooks we keep in class to work out of. NO STUDY GUIDES because of how this program is set up. Students learn from class instruction. I have the family tips for each module this year. Social Studies- Most assignments are charts, organizers put out by state, and projects. There is NO TEXTBOOK. We also complete activities in an Interactive Notebook that also remains in the class which will begin when Virtual is over with. Weekly LA Gumbo will start upon everyone’s return. Moby Max- Remember Moby Max is available for Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading and Language. Good practice tool to get students test ready! Wednesday Folder Procedures 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Students are to bring folders home every Wednesday. Parents you are to look through the graded papers, sign and return. Parents of virtual make sure to check on JCAMPUS for the most up to date grades. Parents you will also receive informational sheets from the school to read. Please Keep these unless they need to be returned. Students are to return the folder with graded papers. Students do receive a conduct mark if they are not returned the next day, unless parent writes a note needing more time.
Homework Policy • Students will write daily homework in planners in each subject area. • Parents are to go over this to make sure students have completed assigned homework. • If for any reason your child leaves planner at school please check out the website for homework assignments. http: //seaysurvivorisland. we ebly. com/ Absent from school Students are to check in the make-up work bin for their “Ketchup Folder”. This is where the student can find the previous day’s class work. Student is to take folder home. Students have one day to make this up unless they have missed many days, then it is up to the teacher’s discretion.

The club meets every Tuesday during Enrichment time and competes 3 times a year at the Bossier Civic Center. ON HOLD DUE TO COVID Ø Tap Programs: Talented Arts Program-Students are recommended by teachers in the areas of visual, musical, and performing arts. Ø Discoveries and Gateway: Enrichment programs that students are recommended for and have to be tested to get in. Discoveries enriches Social Studies and Gateway enriches ELA. Ø Science and Social Studies Fair TBA due to Covid
PHD Science is a new program that involves hands-on activities and analyzing data that is tested at the end of module. We have 4 modules: Weather/Climate, Survival, Traits, Force and Motion. • Science Logbooks remain in classroom. Grades come from these activities. • AR Books 2 Highest Science Non-Fiction grades counted at the end of 9 wks.
