Getting Started – I’m in! • Each person goes around the table and says what is on their mind (personal or professional) and completes the thought with a hand slap on the table with the words, “I’m in. ” The activity is complete when everyone has had an opportunity to share their thought. • For example: “I have quarterly reports that are due to accounting later today but I’m in (with the accompanying hand slap on the table). • For example: “My daughter is sick at home with her grandmother this morning but I’m in (with the accompanying hand slap on the table).
Looking at the 3 rd Grade Profile Purpose: Deepening personal/professional knowledge about the connections between third grade and preschool Process: • Divide into three groups • Introduce yourself to the group and use “I’m In. ” • Choose a recorder • Find correlations between the 3 rd grade student profile and California’s Preschool Learning Foundations
Subcommittee work con’t Purpose: Come to consensus and identify 5 key elements per subcommittee • Identify and define the 5 key elements • Guiderails – The key elements should answer the following questions: 1. What is the initiative? 2. Why is it important? 3. What does the initiative look like?
