IEEE TN Section Awards Program: Publication & Dissertation Awards 1. Best Student Publication Award: Description: To recognize the best paper published by an IEEE student member at a Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE and/or IEEE Tunisia Section Conference. Prize: Certificate. The student co-authors also receive a Certificate and an invitation to attend the Awards Ceremony organized by the IEEE Tunisia Section. Eligibility: The presenter must be a major contributor to both the written paper and the results described in the paper, and a student when the paper was completed. Basis for Judging: Technical quality, presentation quality, and Innovation determined primarily by the Technical Program Committee associated with the conference. Paper having received the conference Best Paper Award. 14

IEEE TN Section Awards Program: Publication & Dissertation Awards 3. Outstanding Ph. D Dissertation Award: Description: To recognize the Ph. D dissertation that is judged to have given the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of theory and/or applications in Technology. Prize: Certificate. Eligibility: All Ph. D dissertations in theory and/or applications of computational intelligence for which the Ph. D degree has been granted up to the fourth year (included) prior to the calendar year when the recipient of the award is selected are eligible. Candidates must apply or be nominated. Applications/nominations may be resubmitted up to three times. Basis for Judging: Evaluation will be based on the following criteria: 1) Ph. D 16 dissertation – the quality of the dissertation, the originality, and the impact of the achievements from the point of view of theory and/or applications will be considered; 2) Publications and other outcomes quantity and quality of the publications, quality of the journals and conferences in which the achievements have been published, and quantity and quality of the other outcomes will be considered

Basis for Judging: Services to members, membership development, quality of activities, and involvement with sponsored conferences. Eligibility: Open to all Student Branch, Student Branch Chapters and Affinity Groups that have not received an award within the past three years. Basis for Judging: Services to the Affinity Group and/or chapter's student members, membership development, and quality and quantity of activities. Frequency: To ensure that this award is presented to appropriately qualified recipient and to maintain the prestigious nature of the award, it may not be presented every year. Distinguished Industry Leader Award: Description: To recognize an industry executive whose leadership resulted in major and outstanding advances and new directions in the information and communications business area in Tunisia. Prize: Certificate and Gift/Plaque. Eligibility: An information or communication industry executive who played a major leadership role in research or development and introduction of systems, devices, applications or services that have significantly impacted the communications and information markets on a global basis and substantially advanced the use of information and communication technologies in industry, commerce, and society in Tunisia. The candidate is not required to be an IEEE member. Basis for Judging: Services to the chapter's student members, membership development, and quality and quantity of activities. The award will not be conferred in any given year if a suitable candidate is not identified. 21 Frequency: To ensure that this award is presented to appropriately qualified recipient and to maintain the prestigious nature of the award, it may not be presented every year. Exemplary Service to Meetings and Conferences Award: Description: To recognize an IEEE Tunisia Section Member who has demonstrated exemplary services to the meetings and Conferences Technically Co-Sponsored by the IEEE Tunisia Section and IEEE. Prize: Certificate and Gift/Plaque. Eligibility: Members having demonstrated exemplary services to the meetings and conferences Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE Tunisia Section over a sustained period of time. Basis for Judging: Evaluation of candidates is based on such factors as long-term service, significant contributions, strategic planning, etc. No more than one award will be given per year. The award will not be conferred in any given year if a suitable candidate is not identified. 22
