Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried out, saying, “If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his belly shall flow (gush) rivers of living water. ’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Yeshua was not yet glorified. The multitude therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This certainly is the Prophet. ” Others were saying, “This is the Mashiach (‘Christ’)…” (Yochanan [John] 7: 40 -41)
“This certainly is the Prophet. ” “This is the Mashiach”
t a What the People Were Saying: And it came about that when Yeshua had finished these parables, He departed from there. And coming to His home town He was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they became astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom, and miraculous powers? Is not this the carpenter’s son? ” (Matthew 13: 53). Yeshua Responds: “…A Prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his household. ” (Matthew 13: 57).
What the People Were Saying: t a When therefore the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, “This is of a truth the Prophet who is to come into the world. ” (John 6: 14). …Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days? ” And He said to them, “What things? ” And they said to Him, “The things about Yeshua Ha. Natzri, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of Elohim and all the people…. (Luke 24: 18) They (the religious leaders of Jerusalem) said therefore to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes? ” And he said, “He is a prophet. ” (John 9: 17).
What the People Were Saying: t a And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this? ” And the multitudes were saying, “This is the prophet Yeshua, from Netzeret in Galilee. ” (Matthew 21: 10). They (the religious leaders of Jerusalem) said therefore to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes? ” And he said, “He is a prophet. ” (John 9: 17).
Repent therefore and return, that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Master (Adonai); and that He may send Yeshua, the Mashiach (“Christ”) appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which Elohim spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. “Moses said ‘YHWH Elohim SHALL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED in all that He says to you. And it shall be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. ’ (Acts 3: 19 -23) Deuteronomy 18: 15 -19
…This man (Moses) led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness forty years. This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘YHWH SHALL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN…”(ACTS 7: 36 -37) Deuteronomy 18: 15 -19
…And the multitudes going in front of Him, and those who followed after were crying out, saying, “Hoshi Anah to the Son of David; BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF YHWH; Hoshi anah in the highest!” And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this? ” And the multitudes were saying, “This is the prophet Yeshua, Yeshua from Netzeret in Galilee. ” (Mattityahu {Matthew} 21: 9 -11) “O Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. “Behold, your house is being left to you desolate! “For I say to you, from now on you shall not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME YHWH!’” (Mt 23: 37) OF
… Yeshua therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, Myself but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. “I know Him; because I am from Him, Him and He sent Me. ” Me (John 7: 28 -29) a yb an NAVI = SENT ONE = “Prophet” 11
Elohim is Ruach, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. ” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, comes He will declare all things to us. ” Yeshua said to her, “I who speak to you am. ” (John 4: 24).
“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only Elohim? Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe (i. e. trust, accept, have faith in…”) his writings, how will you believe My words? ” (John 5: 43 -47)
“…And the Pharisees and the scribes *asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands? ” And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. (Isaiah 29: 13) Neglecting the commandment of Elohim, you hold to the tradition of men. He was also saying to them, “You nicely set aside the commandment of Elohim in order to keep your tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death’; but you say, ‘If a man says to his father or his mother, anything of mine you might have been helped by is Korban (a gift to God), ’ you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother; thus invalidating the word of Elohim by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that. ”(Mark 7: 5 -13) …See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. (Colossians 2: 8)
…See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ (Messiah). (Colossians 2: 8) yba I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. ‘And it shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, name I Myself will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18: 18 -19)

Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it. (Matthew 7: 13 -14) 18
But Yeshua said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of Elohim. ” (Luke 9: 62) 19
TRULY, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 20

Midrash Rabbah Numbers, 13. 2 I have eaten my honeycomb (ya'ri) with my honey (ib. ) implies that because Israel exposed (he'eru) their souls to death in exile-as you read, Because he bared (he'era) his soul unto death (Isa. LIII, 12)- and busied themselves with the Torah which is sweeter than honey, the Holy One, blessed be He, will therefore in the hereafter give them to drink of the wine that is preserved in its grapes since the six days of Creation, and will let them bathe in rivers of milk. 49
Zohar, Beresheet 240 a: “His eyes shall be red with wine”: this is the intoxicating celestial wine from which the masters of the Torah drink. “And his teeth white with milk”, because the Torah is both wine and milk, the Oral and the Written Law. It is written of wine that it “rejoiceth the heart of man” (Ps. CIV, 15). 50

Zohar, Beresheet 192 b R. Judah opened a discourse on the verse: Create me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me (Ps. LI, 12). ‘The term “a clean heart”, ’ he said, ‘finds its parallel in the passage: “Give thy servant therefore an understanding heart” (I Kings III, 9), and also in: “But he that is of merry heart hath a continual feast” (Prov. xv, 15). This is assuredly the clean heart which David asked for. “And renew a steadfast spirit within me” indicates the spirit spoken of in the passage: “and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters”, this being, as has been pointed out, the spirit of the Messiah; the same is alluded to in the promise: “And a new spirit will I put within you” (Ez. XXXVI, 26). 53

Zohar, Shemot, 60 a In Scripture “water” stands as a symbol for the Torah: “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters” (Isa. LV, 1). ‘But’, remarked R. Jesse, ‘the time for the giving of the Torah was not yet, and how could they expect to find this “water” there? ’ Said R. Eleazar: ‘They went out into the wilderness to see the glory of the Holy One, but could not, for He removed it from there. We learn from this that “water” is the symbol of the Torah, and the Holy One and the Torah are one. ’ 56
Yochanan 1: 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. 57
 B. Talmud, Yoma 19 b Our Rabbis taught: There was a Sadducee who had arranged the incense without, and then brought it inside. As he left he was exceedingly glad. On his coming out his father met him and said to him: My son, although we are Sadducees, we are afraid of the Pharisees. He replied: All my life was I aggrieved because of this scriptural verse: For I appear in the cloud upon the ark-cover (Lev. 16. 2). I would say: When shall the opportunity come to my hand so that I might fulfil it. Now that such opportunity has come to my hand, should I not have fulfilled it? 58

Some say: He was smitten as he came out [of the Holy of Holies]. For R. Hiyya taught: Some sort of a noise was heard in the Temple Court, for an angel had come and struck him down on his face [to the ground] and his brethren the priests came in and they found the trace as of a calf's foot on his shoulder, as it is written: And their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot. 59
Luke 1: 9 -13 …according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense. Josephus’ Wars 2: 8: 4 (124) They (Essenes) have no certain city but many of them dwell in every city; and if any of their sect come from other places, what they have lies open for them, just as if it were their own; and they go into such as they never knew before, as if they had been ever so long acquainted with them. (125) For which reason they carry nothing with them when they travel into remote parts, though still they take their weapons with them, for fear of thieves. Accordingly there is, in every city where they live, one appointed particularly to take care of strangers, and to provide garments and other necessaries for them. (126) But the habit and management of their bodies is such as children use who are in fear of their masters. Nor do they allow of the change of garments, or of shoes, till they be first entirely torn to pieces or worn out by time. (127) Nor do they either buy or sell anything to one another; but every one of them gives what he hath to him that wanteth it, and receives from him again in lieu of it what may be convenient for himself; and although there be no requital made, they are fully allowed to take what they want of whomsoever they please. 62
Mattityahu 10: 5 -13 These twelve Yeshua sent out after instructing them, saying, “Do not go in the way (the halacha or road) of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand. ’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons; freely you received, freely give. Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support. And into whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it; and abide there until you go away. And as you enter the house, give it your greeting. And if the house is worthy, let your greeting of peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your greeting of peace return to you. ” 63
