Aux. Air History • 1945: Public Law 451 permits aircraft to be used by the Auxiliary • 1975: half-dozen aviation-oriented Flotillas in the country • 1997: Re-organized operationally around Air Stations (Squadron concept) • 2017: 168 aircraft, 238 pilots, 367 other crewmembers (Observers, Air Crew*)

SOP - Mishap Reporting • This SOP, dated 01 JUL 2017, requires individual or unit with first-hand knowledge of an aviation accident or incident, while assigned to duty, to report all information immediately available. SOP - Mishap Reporting • Aimed at timely and accurate reporting of all Aviation mishaps • Reduce cycle time to move notification from individual or unit to senior Auxiliary leadership • Adds redundancy to ensure notification flows • When in doubt, notify multiple levels within chain
District / Region Program • Widespread, thin geographically • Organized around Air Station (Squadron) – Order Issuing Authority (OIA) • No Division or Flotilla level functions • All are also members of Flotillas – Administrative matters – All other programs and activities
