PROJECT UPDATES
AGL Specification Project • Project kick-off held Tuesday Nov 4 • Second kick-off to be held after SC meeting to update Asia participants • DOORS NG sandbox project created – AGL spec 0. 82 imported – Several JLR Use Case documents imported – Schema proposed • Mail list created automotiverqmts@lists. linuxfoundation. org • Project Wiki Page Created https: //wiki. automotivelinux. org/project-agl-spec-v 1. 0 8
AGL Specification Project • Proposed December 15 Milestone – Finalize DOORS NG Schema – Requirements Management Process in place – DOORS NG and process training available – Specification owners identified – Schedule for completing v 1. 0 • Next steps – Second kick-off meeting immediately following SC – Choose a few use cases to work through to system requirements using Sand Box 9
AGL Reference Platform (Intel based) • AGL Reference Platform (Lead: Paul Wheller - JLR) • Category: User Experience • Intel based • Action item for JLR to consider working in open on updates to reference platform so ARM project can use the same code • Action item for project wiki to be updated with schedule, scope, description, project leads and committers, etc. • Sprint planning completed – 2 sprints (6 weeks) to convert to Crosswalk 10
AGL Reference Platform (ARM based) • Full Prototype IVI System (Lead: Hisao Munakata Renesas) • ARM based • Initial BSP Code has been added to Tizen IVI • Action item for JLR to consider working in open on updates to reference platform so ARM project can use the same code 11
AGL Reference Platform (ARM based) • Objectives • Find the gap between existing Tizen IVI and product demand. – Performance (Measured under realistic use case) – Capability – Compatibility (Intel and ARM) • Create native and HTML 5 applications • Motivate non-AGL companies to join the activity. – Unique AGL features – Well sorted IVI middleware and App. Framework – Avoid commercial applications / middleware.
Target hardware • Renesas R-Car. M 2 “Porter” Can be purchased through global disty • Intel IVI reference board (TBD) --- VTC 1010 -IVI
Software Architecture • Based on Tizen IVI 3. 0 latest release (currently M 14. 3) • Add several AGL features (TBD) defined in AGL spec version 0. 8. 2 • Avoid commercial applications / middleware. • May contain binary blobs (mostly for graphics). It should be delivered with easy evaluation license.
FYI : Tizen M 14. 3 few feature quoted from Mr. Kien’s report posted to AGL-jp ML • • • LTSI-3. 14 kernel Crosswalk v 6 (update) Wayland v 1. 5 (update) GENIVI Lifecycle components GENIVI Audio manager Improved AMB (Automotive Message Broker) Multi user support Sync Evolution (cloud address book) support Improved Murphy w/ICO system controller https: //bugs. tizen. org/jira/browse/TC-710? filter=13830

2014 Target schedule 2015 By End of 2014: Create concrete plan and infrastructure preparation • Delivery of v 0. 1 • 0. 1 should include; • R-Car “Porter” • Tizen 3. 0 based BSP with LTSI-3. 14. • Sample Apps • ST will integrate • Yocto Build AGL Internal Development Phase: - developed by a limited AGL Members - This should work as a “marketing tool” as well as a “gap finder”. By Mid 2015: • Review of v 0. 1 to find true gaps for OEM/Teir 1 • Started to accept patches from AGL Members as well as non-members (we need a maintainer) • Release v 1. 0 at ALS 2015 (in June) • We update the spec accordingly. Open Development Phase: - Accepting patches from members & non-members - Recruiting new OEM members By End of 2015: • Delivery of v 2. 0 • Hopefully include; • Web API defined • Security feature defined • ARM and x 86 ready. New expansion Phase: - Closer to Product ready - Strategic API - Be a true competitor of Apple and Google
Project Status - RVI • Remote Vehicle Interaction (Lead: Magnus Feuer - JLR ) • Category: User Experience • Milestones • Version 0. 2 released with Remote HVAC control • Software Over The Air (SOTA) demonstrated at Telematics West • Next sprint • Conversion to Crosswalk • Vehicle tracking demo 18
AGL Reference Platform (Intel based) • AGL Reference Platform (Lead: JLR/Intel) • • Category: User Experience Intel based Action item for JLR to consider working in open on updates to reference platform so ARM project can use the same code Action item for project wiki to be updated with schedule, scope, description, project leads and committers, etc. 19
