Allow the AED to analyze the patient’s heart rhythm 5. If the AED recommends shock – Ensure everyone is clear (not touching the patient) THEN press the shock button 6. If the patient is still not breathing, commence CPR. 7. Continue to follow the AED Instructions or until professional help arrives. The Rig Medic/Doctor will now give a brief demonstration on the use of the AED on your rig
