Chapter 1 Meet Peter! 1
Weeeh! Meet peter, the orangutan, your typical coloured orangutan. Though he likes, loves all products palm – oil free. His favourite food is palm oil free chocolate. It was lunch time so he headed home. Time for a delicious ham sandwich. 2
Peter ate the ham sandwich and was very happy about it. Suddenly, the door creaked open and a little fella came in. 3
Fictional Book! • This is a fictional book! I know Orangutans do not eat chocolate (palm oil free) and chips. I also know that they do not drink Cola. They do eat leaves, honey and Durian leaves honey
Chapter 2 Here Comes Ah Meng 4
Before I move on Ah Meng was real orangutan and was treated very badly by its owner. A vet saved him and he went into a zoo which was like his natural habitat. Sadly in 2007, she died, so I did not come up with the name. 5
• Peter and the Orangutan had a little talk. They discovered each others name. Peter introduced himself and told the fella he was Peter. The little fella introduced himself and said she was Ah Meng. 6
Ah Mengleft the tree house and headed back to her own tree house. After a little while, it was time for his daily nap, so Peter went to sleep. Then a noise started but no orangutan heard………. . 7
Chapter 3 The loggers 8
The loggers came to remove the trees because they needed wood to sell so they could make money. They knew the orangutans were very angry in the morning so they chose to do at night with their new silent chainsaw to cut down the trees. They also needed to plant palm oil trees for their new Palm Biscuits, extra crunchy and extra rich. 9
When it was 6 am the loggers finished cutting down the trees and planted lots of palm trees. They left the area to go and report back to their boss. They were very excited because they were going to get a high pay because of this work and because of the new Palm Biscuits were going to be a big sell. $o$ 10
Chapter 4 What Happened!? ! 11
When all the Great Apes woke up (They are Gorillas, Monkeys, Orangutans and Chimpanzees) they saw many trees cut down. What happened? All the Great Apes froze with fear but did nothing. Their eyes stared blankly at the cut trees. 12
Everybody was speechless. Everybody was puzzled and confused. Everybody was scared. Finally one of the chimpanzees went to check what happened. They didn’t see the palm oil seeds, all they saw was the destruction of the trees. 13
Chapter 5 No money? 14
The boss was frustrated. Since the loggers gained nothing from cutting down the trees. The loggers tried to explain but they did not get any money for the job. They were all heartbroken because the trip and work took three days. 15
Now for all of the loggers efforts, they all went to have a drink, they went home, had dinner and went to bed. The loggers fell asleep…. . 16
Chapter 6 Daily Life 17
After all the devastation, everybody went on with their daily lives. They collected their daily food and done their daily things. They all still felt pretty helpless, sadly……………. 18
Chapter 7 The Kidnap 19
After a while, it was time for rest. All the orangutans went to sleep. Then, a Logger came in and stole Peter. 20
Then they went to get another Orangutan for just for other test reasons. Then the Logger went to steal another Orangutan. The closest tree house to Peter’s was Ah Meng’s and they went to kidnap her! 21
Then he chucked them in his truck and drove away back to the city. There was a long drive back but he hoped the Orangutans would not wake up. Will they? 22
Chapter 8 The Escape 23
The Logger took them to the boss of the largest logger company but the boss was at another meeting. What Bad Luck! 24
Sudddenly, A man named Tom dashed in and took Ah Meng and Peter and sprinted out of the room. Breathing hard, he kept on sprinting, dodged obstacles and went out of the room. 25
Ah Meng and Peter were asleep so they didn’t know where they were. They felt being chucked in but were to sleepy to react. Then they heard a Brooooooom and vibration which woke them up, lightning fast. 26
The orangutans were caged in and were a bit confused. Little did they know they were saved. They could see nothing but they were driving into a zoo, Singapore Zoo. 27
Chapter 9 Singapore Zoo 28
The Singapore Zoo, also known as the Singapore Zoological Gardens and known locally as the Mandai Zoo. It occupies 28 hectares on the margins of Upper Seletar Reservoir. Address: 80 Mandai Lake Rd, Singapore 729826 Opened: June 27, 1973 Area: 69 acres (28 ha) 29
Ah Meng and Peter woke up, they didn’t know they were in an enclosed enclosure because they enclosure seamed like It was natural. They didn’t see each other but Peter felt a bit odd. Ignoring the feeling he just headed in the direction he though where he thought was home. 30
After a little while, Peter saw many other Orangutans eating one of his favourite foods, Durian. Although he was very tempted to ask, they seemed like strangers so he didn’t ask. One face did seem familiar, Ah Meng. 31
Was he dreaming. It must be someone else Peter thought so he just walked on but he bumped into a gate. Then outside the gate, he saw many other odd creatures. 32
The odd creatures seemed to be studying him so he ran away to hide. Then he bumped into another orangutan. Studying her, he realized it was actually her. They both seemed pretty happy with the conditions they were living in but they missed their friends. 33
Chapter 10 Happy Ending? 34
After a little while (3 weeks), the orangutans realized they weren’t getting out. They where distressed for a couple more days but their new orangutan friends comforted them with extra durian. 35
They got used to being stared at by weird creatures (humans) which still felt a little uncomfortable the Orangutans but they made new friends and got to eat all the food they wanted. Happy? Although they missed there old friends, they were happy to start a new life here.
