CASE STUDY 1 • Name of Drama : They made our world – Marconi

CASE STUDY 1 • Name of Drama : They made our world – Marconi (Non- Broadcasted) • Genre : Science and Technology • Audio format : • Production technique : Use of phone ringing and music that gives the audience a new atmosphere , giving you a full on experience of how the first telephones have been developed over time with examples of how the telephone would have sounded like with a light static noise which gives you an idea of how it could have been back then… also they added movies sounds from the early 60 s , the sound of static and old audio from old recordings which help the entire atmosphere of the evolution. However, to change the settings of the story, they added a song that gave an “adventurous” feel to the story for a few seconds as the new settings and start of story begins, also it follows the story that the narrator is speaking off as the story continues, they use different old recordings of new phone audios as they explain how the audio changes as technology develops over time. • Content: A story which explains how the first ever telephones were invented as examples of these early phones are played meanwhile the narrator talks about how these event came across in history.

CASE STUDY 2 • Name of Drama : Science betrayed – Episode 1 (Broadcasted) • Producers: Alexandra Feachem and Roland Pease • Genre : Science and documentary • Audio format : • Production technique : use of old audio clips of previous recordings as examples to support the main narration and also stops every end of sentence to create an overall conclusion of what exactly is going on as the audio plays and cut through other audios to fully explain what is going on, sound of walking and doors closing to illustrate of body movement as the person is moving around to show he/she is looking at the very few evidence of the main topic which in this case is… scientific fraud. • Content: What happens when science goes bad? From the anthropological hoax of Piltdown man back in 1912, through to more recent cases, such as that of Dr Hwang Woo-suk, the Korean scientist accused of faking his "breakthrough" into stem cell research, there have been some dramatic and spectacular examples of scientists, who, for whatever reason, have chosen to be less than honest with their research and data

CASE STUDY 3 • Name of Drama : Just a Minute – series 83 Ep 4 (Broadcasted) • Producers: Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Lee Mack and Zoe Lyons join Nicholas Parsons • Genre : Comedy • Audio format : • Production technique : laughing sound effect to add the overall “stand up comedian” , also the sounds of people clapping that adds the atmosphere of a live show with live audience listening to the actors talking as they press buttons with a certain sound effect if the contestant failed the challenge or not, also people make sound with different facial expression can be heard in the background as the comedians talk, the actors themselves laugh. • Content: Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Lee Mack and Zoe Lyons join Nicholas Parsons for the panel game where the challenge is to speak without hesitation, repetition or deviation. • Produced by Matt Stronge. • A BBC Studios Production.

CASE STUDY 4 • Name of Drama : Life Cycle – Forgiveness (Broadcasted) • Genre : Health and wellness • Audio format : • Production technique : Sound of birds chirping , calm music and the sound of nature in the background as the narrator speaks , the sound of a bicycle chain moving , this adds the atmosphere of “moving on” in life and followed by the explanation of how the narrator sees in his or her point of view. Change settings by adding sound of music and cycle in the back ground as person speaks, to move to another setting/ person speaking. • Content: Endurance cyclist Lee Craigie explores the very human trait of being able to forgive. From forgiving others to being able to forgive ourselves, Lee explores what process and mindset we need to go through to be able to say, i'm not going to let that bother me anymore. Diving deep into the Catholic ritual of Confession, this non-believer explores what it means to seek forgiveness and how penance plays its part in absolution. While on a much more human level Pete confides in Lee how just talking about your shame and guilt can help you find forgiveness and hope from deep within. And if we can all offer and receive a little more forgiveness in our lives how will that benefit our health, happiness and freedom.
