Audience During the entire production the audience had to be carefully research and looked

Audience During the entire production the audience had to be carefully research and looked into in order to came up with one that is suitable for Dual Burden. After we had a target audience, the elements included in the footage had to be taken in consideration by making sure that they are picked in order of the audience preference.

Gender Due to the fact that action movies are mostly aimed for a male

Gender Due to the fact that action movies are mostly aimed for a male audience, Dual Burden has decided to keep the same gender, however by the end of the footage; the audience can clearly see that behind the crimes there was actually a girl who had everything under her control. Laura Mulvey came up with the ‘male gaze’ theory ‘ which states that the film audience have to view the characters from the perspective of a heterosexual male. However this production contradicts with theory as there is Chantel the main villain that controls Tyler. He is obeying her. By the fact that Chatel meets Tyler in a park that is not exposed shows that she cleverly thinks her each step due to the gravity of the situation. She also has an influence over Tyler as by the end of the argument he decides to get the money that she proposes.

Age The target age for Dual Burden is 15+ as teenagers were used to

Age The target age for Dual Burden is 15+ as teenagers were used to play the characters throughout the opening. This allows the audience with the same age to find any similarities between themselves and Tyler or even Chantel. However due to the strong context an older audience 25+ is targeted as well as the woman that is being robbed can be linked to people that had been through the same experience due to imprudence. The actors used in the production are aged 16 -17.

Stereotype Dual burden is stereotyping the fact that teenagers from lower classes tend to

Stereotype Dual burden is stereotyping the fact that teenagers from lower classes tend to practice crime and make it a habit because of the benefits that they are getting out of it (eg. Money/drugs). However Chantel is developing a strong character that is against stereotype by controlling the entire situation even though her presence was made only at the end. The fact that she is a female does not make a difference when her presentence is introduced to the audience. The message is very clear; she is the leader and she has the power and money that Tyler is looking for. At first, it might be slightly different if the audience never experienced a strong female character since they mostly are supposed to show weakness and feminity.
