Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy ● The IEP requires approximately 85% program attendance. This does NOT include attendance in your credit class (COM 110 or MA 141). ● You are marked absent when you are not present for class. ● If you are late (tardy) for class three times, it will count as a 1 hour absence.

Absent → ALL absences will count toward your 20 hour limit. Reasons You May Be Marked Absent ● ● ● Not present in class Arrives more than 10 minutes after Zoom class starts Instructor has consistently warned you about: ○ Arriving after Zoom class starts ○ Leaving before class has finished ○ Taking unscheduled breaks from class ○ Being unprepared for class ○ Sleeping in class ○ Not following instructor’s directions about cell phones or computer use

Tardy → 3 tardies = 1 absence Reasons You May Be Marked Tardy ● Arrives late up to 10 minutes after Zoom class begins ● Leaves class up to 10 minutes before it ends ** REMEMBER: It is every student’s responsibility to know how many classes he or she has already missed in each class during the semester. Discuss any questions or concerns IMMEDIATELY with your instructor.

What To Do If You Miss Class If you miss class for ANY reason, you must take the following steps: ● ● Immediately email your instructor to let him or her know why you missed class and to find out about what work you missed in class REMEMBER: It is YOUR responsibility to ask your instructor about missed work and IF if can be submitted late. ** If you know in advance that you will miss a class on a future date, contact your instructor as early as possible to discuss alternative arrangements for the work you will miss in class.
