Chinese Activities • In Nov. 1999，a memorandum of understanding was made between CERN and NSFC( Natural Science Foundation of China), declaring that China participates the ATLAS and CMS collaboration • Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Nanjing University (NJU), Shandong University (SDU), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) joined the collaboration as Chinese Cluster. • Supports also came from Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Academy of Science of China. Mikenberg on Dec. 17, 2004 ……… “…(tested) 98 doublets (196 chambers), … have excelled in all aspects; in particular, …the inefficiency area never exceeded 1% (the qualification criteria has been set at <5%) and all the detectors have pass the radiation test without any need of training. Chinese Activities TGC frontend electronics test (USTC) • USTC designed an automatic testing system for the TGC frontend readout card: ASD(Amplifier Shaper Discriminator) • Finished the test of all 25000 ASDs • By the way: NJU produced 330 copper absorbers for the endcap calorimeter.
