PH-DT-DI Gas Service Team 2013 activities can be divided into three main sectors: 1. Standard maintenance of gas systems for the LHC experiments LS 1 – 2013: Overview 2. LS 1 consolidation program for the LHC experiments 3. Software upgrade Main responsible: Steven Pavis Software upgrade EN-ICE is preparing the migration to a new software version (CPC 6 & more). The migration requires to (~) completely rewrite the code (PLC+PVSS): Ø Preparation phase needed to define strategy and milestons • Define modules, test logic, … • Validation of one/two gas systems covering almost all functionalities • Deployment on one experiment (all detectors) • Deployment on all the experiments Ø A complete commissioning will be required (same as it was done at the first start-up of the gas systems) Ø About one-two week of stop/instability for each detector (CSC, RPC, TRT, TFC, MDT, TGC, ID flushing, …) Ø Activitiy scheduled from January to July 2014 • MDT postponed due to PLC memory issues with CPC 6 • TGC postponed due to consolidation work 27/03/2014 R.
