CHANGES TO MAP • Reversed the relationship between Learning Theory and types of Learning Theories to reflect time flow • Inserted examples of theorist associated with theories • Changed Learning Theory to a main concept • Included an Online Learning topic • Removed the previous sub-topics associated with Instructional Design Theory • Included Context, Environment and Research as inputs to Design Theory • Included a Software sub-topic

CHANGES TO MAP • Included a sub-topic on an example of an instructional model

CHANGES TO MAP • Included a sub-topic on an example of an instructional model (Hannafin & Peck - Evaluation) • Linked this back to research to show its contribution to the design theory • Included Human and Content Resources topics. • Included an image of the Brain, it is where this journey started and it’s enhancement is the ultimate goal of everything being shown in the concept map • Included connections that were not identified in the first map • Excluded Traditional Learning topic

INFLUENCING FACTORS Unit 4 Learning Cafe – This unit aided significantly in understanding the whole concept of instructional theory, strategy and models Exercise in creating one’s own model – this activity highlighted the need to make valid and meaningful connections to concepts in order to achieve the desired outcome. e. g the link in my map between analysis and research can be used to identify prior knowledge which was highlighted as a very important factor in designing models.

INFLUENCING FACTORS • Reflection completed in Learning Café Nov 15 -21 – Role of Facilitator – in completing this module in made me aware of the importance of the facilitator and other resource individuals, hence my inclusion of a human resource topic • Overall increase of knowledge in the subject area from readings and activities.

REFLECTION • In creating the first map, I did not have many links between the different concepts/topics contained in it. This time I had a better understanding of the concepts/topics, and was more equipped to identify the links between them. While there is additional information like examples of instructional strategies, particularly Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction which can be included in the map, I did not to avoid the map looking overly cluttered and complicated. • Inclusion of an image of the brain, came about while looking for a simple concept which would encompass all the information covered, it also took my mind back to the beginning of the course, when I was surprised to see the first topic we did was so focused on the brain. In completing the concept map I was able to associate everything discussed in the course to week one.
