LO 1 – How to devise a performance from a brief. Brief You will create a performance for families using the poem ‘When you think things are bad’ by Dr Suess Read the poem on the right Image you will be doing a performance based on this poem! Open the document Assessment and follow the instructions on the next slide!
LO 1 – How to devise a performance from a brief. Ideas Mind-map you ideas What do you think when you read it? What is it about? Does it have a message? Style What is your style? What style of theatre will best suit your idea? Shakespearian, Greek, Melodrama, Commedia Dellarte Storyline What is your storyline? Write a brief description! Structure Remember your performance should have a clear structure. Beginning This will be 1 scene Middle This will be 3 scenes End This will be 1 scene Open the document story board and follow the instructions within it!
LO 2 – How to create characters applying appropriate skills. Role on the Wall Skills In the Assessment document you will find a Role on the Wall. Remember is a technique that allows you to explore a character! Complete the role on the wall in the document! On the outside How others see me! On the inside How I feel! Choose one Physical and one Vocal skill that you would use for this character! Tell me what they are and describe how you would use it! E. g. I would use the vocal skill pitch. I Would use a high pitch to show the character is female. I would use the physical skill mannerism. I would use the mannerism of hand twisting to show she is a nervous person.
You must send your work! All typed documents must be emailed to myself at ahall@ttsonline. net If you have hand-written the documents, please could you email me pictures to show you have completed your work, bringing it upon your return to school. Where you will hand it into Mrs Adams, who will collect it in your Music lesson.
