Curriculum 2014 • Literacy: Strong emphasis on spelling and vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. • Balance retained by maintaining a strong focus on the creative use of language and developing an understanding of different text types. • Mathematics: the new programme of study for mathematics is organised into domains focussed on number, measurement, geometry, statistics, ratio and proportion and algebra. • The curriculum may appear quite challenging as some content is covered in earlier year groups than was the case previously.
