This is often a reference to a place, event or literary work that is well known. Many allusions allude to different gods and creatures in Greek mythology. Example: “Josh was the Achilles heel of the team. ”

The mood of a text will impact how the text is read and interpreted. Imagery is the author’s use of vivid and descriptive language in order to add depth to their work. Imagery allows the author to let his audience see what he sees or wants his audience to see. The mood of any text is typically defined and indefinitely impacted by the imagery an author uses.

This is important for narrative poetry as it keeps the poem flowing in order for the story to be understood well. Example “Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn and cauldron bubble. ”
