實驗題目 n The priming of mungbean of seeds
The priming of mungbean of seeds n n n Introduction: The priming treatment is that use various methods to treat seeds and make the seeds absorb water slowly and boundedly. The priming is a treatment that controls rates and quantities of seed absorbing water and make seed germinate quickly and tidily. n the modern laboratory there are mainly three kinds of methods of priming, matric priming (solid matric conditioning), osmostic priming, and drum priming. We use traditional method of priming-soaking seed in water. The influences to the germination by this kind of method and period of priming time (the time for soaking seed in water) are main goal and direction of this experiment.
The priming of mungbean of seeds n n Methods: Two kinds of strains of the mungbean(VC 6173 B-10 and VC 6370 -30 -65). The seed size of VC 6173 B(3 mm*6 mm) is bigger than VC 6370 -30 -65(2 mm*4 mm). Both lines have six treatments on the priming time are 0 hour 4 hour 6 hour 8 hour 10 hour 24 hour and each treatment have two replications. Each replication have 100 seeds. maintain the humidity around the seed, and then put them into the incubator which maintains the temperature about 30℃ to germinate. Observe and record the germination for everyday.
The priming of mungbean of seeds n n Result: The difference of the germination of two varieties are shown in Fig 1. and 2. (Table 1, 2, 3) the primed seed germinated faster than unprimed at the early germination stage, especially the bigger size of the strain more obviously (like VC 6173 B-10). n Know that the longer priming the faster germination. So if we control the quantities of the seed absorbing, promote the effect of priming and that can shorten growth period of mungbean obviously. n The germination test of priming treatment isn’t very obvious in the lab. Because the priming mungbean in the farm the emergence of priming treatment for 8 hours soaking was better than unpriming treatment. (DFID Plant Sciences Research Programme, On Farm Seed Priming. ) n he hardseed affects the germination , and make the germination not reach to 100%. So this also means that hardseed would affect the cultivation in the field. But by many quantities of seed that can fill up the vacancy. Table 4 gives the information that small seeds have more hardseeds than big seeds. From the Table 5. we can know that the germinations of big seeds are faster than small seeds n n
