INTASC Standard #9 Professional Learning and Ethical Practice: The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner. Description: This powerpoint is a representation of my personal statement regarding teaching. In this powerpoint I discusses the topics that are important to me, on how to be an great teacher. I discuss different variations of topics revolving the job of a teacher. Rationale: This powerpoint best represents the standard #9 of the INTASC standards for teachers, in my opinion. Standard #9 states that the teacher continues to understand the practice of being a teacher. The fact that teachers have to be willing to continue to learn and teach at the same time. This powerpoint demonstrates the knowledge of understanding the different aspects of becoming an effective and well rounded teacher.
Reasons for Wanting to Teach Love children. Enjoy working with them; coach, tutor, teacher assistant, sunday school. Teachers in the past have influenced me. I have always had a passion to teach. I want to make a difference in the next generation.
Effective Teacher Traits Compassionate Good listener Patient Perceptive; aware of surroundings Organized Team Player These are all traits that I feel I have, which make for an effective teacher.
Educational Philosophy Focus more on Children rather than subject matter. I want to teach what interests the students along with state standards. Using real life situations to help the understanding of the material. Teach students hard work, try to help them become passionate about learning.
Student Characteristics Respectful Eager to learn Caring Compassionate to students and other teachers Innocent at heart These are all characteristics I would want in my future students.
Community Characteristics Open arms to me as a new teacher. Willing to teach me different aspects of the school. Small town; Suburb or Rural type area. Helpful, willing to answer questions.
Contributions to the Profession Teach the next generation important knowledge to help them through life. Be support for my colleagues. I will stay committed in my work. Help prepare my students with real life situations throughout my teachings. I will do the best I can when teaching my students.
