What is ASHA? “The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 198, 000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students”. -ASHA Website
What is the ASHA Convention? “The ASHA Convention is the premier annual professional education event for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. Bringing together approximately 15, 000 attendees, the Annual Convention provides unparalleled opportunities to hear the latest research and gain new skills and resources to advance your career”. -ASHA Convention Website
• Dates: November 15 th-17 th – Registration has been open since August. – You can still register! • Hotel Availability will be limited. • Costs: One Day Full Convention National NSSLHA Member $165 $755 Non-Member $535 $225 – Thinking about attending? Become a National NSSLHA Member. • Pay $60 for membership with amazing perks and save money when registering for convention. • Michelle will touch on how to become a member in her report! • Accommodations: – SAFAC Funding for November 15 th • In the process of being approved. • 10 individuals will be funded. 5 spots will automatically be the eboard and the remaining 5 spots are up for selection. • Please send in a brief written statement on why you are interested in the convention and how this financial support would benefic you. The determining factor will be, based on the amount of applications received and the financial need of each individual. – Group registration with 7 or more people, get the 8 th free. • We will reduce the cost of all students attending by dividing the compensation and subtracting it from each persons overall payment.
