Birth of ASEAN On 8 August 1967, the Bangkok Declaration was signed by the “Five ASEAN Founding Fathers” i. e. the Foreign Ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, at Saranrom Palace, Bangkok, Thailand. Today, 8 August is considered to be “ASEAN Day”.
