Artist research page examples – use for inspiration If you have materials at home, use these examples above to help with your creative design of your artist research page. This can be done on loose paper, or in a sketchbook if you have one. If you are limited by materials, ensure that your research page is well presented. You could complete it in the form of a poster, or you could even create a Word/ Power Point creatively produced. You won’t be penalised for not having materials – as long as it is well presented! Week 3, Task 3: Artist research page on Edward Hopper “We are all Edward Hopper Paintings now”. Edward Hopper is famous for creating quiet paintings representing solitude of human nature. These are particularly relevant in the current lock down situation where individuals will be experiencing isolation and loneliness in homes on their own. Your task is to produce a research page on Edward Hopper including: • An artist copy (this can be a drawn/painted response or a photography response – plan either one well, and remember you can zoom into part of the image to draw making it easier) • A title – Edward Hopper – plan this well and creatively, linking to the style of the art • Pictures of his original work stuck neatly in. If you can’t print, don’t worry about this • Include some detailed written information, remembering to use some of links on slide 1 • Remember to spend 5 minutes thinking about and planning your page – the overall presentation should link to the style of the art. Who was Edward Hopper? When and where was he working? What inspired his work? What are common themes and how are they relevant today? Describe his style of drawings and paintings in your own words, thinking about style, colour, use of composition and space, and your own opinions. For an additional challenge, choose 1 or 2 of these modern artists and compare them to his work. How do you think they have been influenced? https: //www. saatchiart. com/art-collection/Inspired-by-Edward. Hopper/153961/21394/view
