Transfer Process • Receipt of OFFICIAL transcripts from previous schools in Admissions – – Schools must be accredited AP & CLEP Exam Scores directly from College Board IB Exam Scores directly from International Baccalaureate International coursework must be accompanied by a course-by-course AACRAO evaluation • Transcripts are electronically scanned in Admissions and placed in your file • Once admitted, Transfer Services in the Registrar’s Office manually enters the coursework, reviews transcripts and evaluates coursework Articulation 301: Articulation and Transfer Credit registrar. umbc. edu

Transfer Policies • Maximum credits transferred to UMBC – – – 60 credits from Community Colleges • 65 credits for Engineering Majors only • 64 credits if you’ve earned an AAT Degree from MD Community Colleges 90 total credits maximum • Includes AP, CLEP, and IB Exam scores The Degree Audit advising tool will enforce these limits • Credits transfer, not grades • Need “C-” or better for course to transfer – Exception: Maryland Community Colleges and Maryland Public Institutions prior to enrollment at UMBC Articulation 301: Articulation and Transfer Credit registrar. umbc. edu

MHEC and Maryland Public Institution: When Ds count • Ds are transferrable from MD Community Colleges and Maryland Public 4 -year Institutions as elective credit • Only count toward General Education if student attended MD Community College with: – 56 or more transferable credits and a completed Gen.
