WHAT IS THE ARMOR OF GOD? Let’s read what the BIBLE has to say!

Ephesians 6: 10 -17 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 11 Put

What is a helmet used for?

That’s Right! It is protection for your head! Why do we need to protect our head? What is in our head that needs protection?

Yep, that’s right, our brain needs to be protected! What do we do with our brain? Do we need it to think? Do we need it to make decisions?

Well, how do we protect our brain so we can make good decisions?

Do we need to wear a helmet?

Do we have to cover our ears so we don’t hear any bad things?

How can we keep our eyes from seeing things that are not good?

How about our mouth, should we cover our mouth so nothing bad comes out of it?

Let’s look at the BIBLE again and see what God tells us to do to protect our minds!

1 Corinthians 15: 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Philippians 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2 Peter 1: 5 -11 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The bible tells us to PROTECT ourselves from evil thoughts, to keep away from evil deeds, to keep ourselves pure and lovely.

Have you ever heard the saying “Garbage in- garbage out”

If you fill your mind with bad things, what comes out?

If you fill your mind with good things, what comes out?

If you see bad or evil things with your eyes, where do those images go? Can you just delete them? Or are they always stored in your mind!

If you hear bad or evil things with your ears, can you just forget what you heard? Can you just erase that from your mind?

If you say bad or evil things can you ever take them back, will the person you said them to forget them or remember them?

Lets read the words of God again, what are we to do to protect our mind from evil or bad things?

If this guy came up to you what would you do?

How about this guy?

The devil comes in many shapes and forms! BEWARE of his craftiness!

We HAVE to FILL our mind with good things, with the knowledge that God provides! READ YOUR BIBLE STUDY YOUR BIBLE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!

If we want the hope of SALVATION we need to follow God’s instructions!

THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD OF GOD IS OUR HELMET OF SALVATION!
