How Does One Immigrate? U. S. immigration law is very complex, and there is much confusion as to how it works. The Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA), the body of law governing current immigration policy, provides for an annual worldwide limit of 675, 000 permanent immigrants, with certain exceptions for close family members. Congress and the President determine a separate number for refugee admissions. Historically, immigration to the United States has been based upon three principles: 8 (1) the reunification of families, (2) admitting immigrants with skills that are valuable to the U. S. economy, (3) protecting refugees/asylum seekers.
An Overview More than numbers can express, Arizona JFON changes lives by reuniting families after years of separation, by helping immigrant women suffering domestic violence to live in the United States safely and permanently without dependence on an abuser, and by enabling eligible immigrants to attain authorization to work. Arizona JFON takes on a wide range of immigration cases, including: Visa petitions for family members abroad, VAWA, U-visa and T-visa cases for victims of domestic 9 and other forms of violence, DACA renewal cases for undocumented young people, SIJ cases foreign children in the United States who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, Limited asylum cases for those seeking protection from persecution or even death, Applications for Employment Authorization Documents for eligible immigrants, and many more.
