Major accomplishments Ares was in many fights in his day. He was in the war of Gigantes, seven footed giants. He also fought The giant Typhoeus. Ares took a big role in the Trojan War. Ares drove the Trojans into war but the gods came down and supported favorites. Ares was wounded by Diomedes and Athena. Then there was the slaying of Adonis, his rival for the love of Aphrodite, in the guise of a boar. The murder of Hallirhothios to avenge his daughter's rape and his subsequent trial in the court of the Areiopagos.

Story Time! v. When Ares was fighting in the Trojan War Athena convinced one of the Greek warriors to wound Ares in the side during the Trojan War. He screamed in pain so loud that it shook the Earth. v. Ares felt strongly about his daughters. When his daughter Alcippe was raped by one of Poseidon's sons, Ares promptly killed him. This lead to the first murder trial in recorded history. The trial was held on a hill in Athens that was subsequently named the Aeropagus. Ares was convicted of the crime. v. Ares wanted to fight so much that he was usually disarmed by Athena, Goddess of restraint and forethought, to keep him from interfering in battles that did not concern him.
