Objectives of this session 1. Help parents to understand the significance of teaching Islamic & Arabic Subjects in UAE. * *2. Introduce parents how Arabic & Islamic studies has been taught in WSR *3. Help parents to understand what to look for and how to help their children at home.
Islamic Studies B Objectives of Islamic Curriculum: UAE Islamic curriculum is built on providing a comprehensive vision of Islam as a religion regulates the human life in all sides and ritualistic, economic, social, political, and cultural aspects. This curriculum seeks to formulate an Islamic personality: with mental understanding, sentimental sense, and behavioral belief of “the principles of Islam”, as it must be aware of the historical movement represented in the experience of the Muslim in time and place. 3 main objectives are: 1. The theoretical foundations of Islam are the Qur'an and Sunnah. 2. The Biography of the Prophet, which represent good example, as well as the historical examples representing role models for imitation. 3. The Elements of identity: language, culture, civilization, nation, and the local society.

Activity: After school routines/Talking to your kids about school v Group 1: v At your table, talk about strategies you use to get your kids talking about their days after school. v Ask each other questions: Ø What questions do you ask? Ø Do you discuss what they tell you? Ø How do you get them excited to talk? Ø What do you do when they refuse to talk?
Group 2: v. Discuss your after school routines. Be Specific! v. Ask each other questions: ØHow do you help your child with homework? How closely do you review it? ØHow often do you communicate with their teachers? ØHow do you celebrate your child’s success in school? How do you address poor performance?
